You've probably noticed. A lot of thought goes into those campaign ads that we see on TV and it goes beyond the narrative. The creative work seems to always include the most unflattering pictures of the opponent that can be found. It could be a scowl, a frown, or a blank stare. Whatever the look, it's almost comical. In contrast, the candidate who approved the ad, is pictured with a confident smile or a look of sincere determination. The music selection mirrors the chosen pictures with a timely transition from gloom to sunshine. By design, the images deliver a subtle message unless the viewer is paying attention. So if you've almost reached the "fed up" stage in response to the barrage of political spots that come your way through the airwaves, it might help to play closer attention to the subtleties that are built within the ad. You may find you're looking forward to the next one. Nicely Done! |
