A win for Nebraska this Saturday over Missouri would send Pelini shock-waves around the Big 12 and throughout the college football landscape.

The Tigers have basically the same team that embarrassed the Huskers in Columbia.  The loss was so bad, Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel referred to the Blackshirt defensive scheme as "high school."  Ouch!

Can you imagine a comment like that aimed in Bo Pelini's direction?

His team will be fired up and with a packed stadium of Husker zealots an upset is certainly possible.  But not probable.

That's why our own John Chapman's prediction really stands out.  He joined me on WOWT First News Live at Four today (Oct. 1) and with bold confidence picked Nebraska to upset Missouri because of NU's home field advantage.  Chaps points out that the last time the Tigers won a football game in Lincoln was thirty years ago.  He's right and I can testify having reported on that game, that it goes down as one of the best ever played in Memorial Stadium.

Should we give Chap's prediction any credence?  Well his record last week was pretty good.  He called Oregon State's upset of USC and Alabama's road win over favored Georgia.

And keep in mind thirty years ago when Missouri recorded that win in Lincoln,  the over-matched Huskers recorded the upset of the college football season taking down Billy Simms and #1 rated Oklahoma.  The odds of Nebraska winning that game were about as good as their chances against Missouri this Saturday.

If Chaps is right, I'll give him some more space in this blog next week.

Knicely Done!
