Mark down another loss for the Channel Six All Star softball team.  The co-ed charity game against Heart Consultants of Omaha was played Saturday September 20th at the Seymour Smith complex.

You won't remember, but the stinging pain of the loss last year to Heart Consultants in a fundraiser for the American Heart Association remains for the All Stars.  Of course we tried to use that defeat as a rallying point for this year's game and although we did have a rally in the fourth inning to take the lead, H-C left the field with a one run victory.  You'll see the winning players in the short video and also the discreet conversation our own Ross Jernstrom had with Chief Umpire Bob Knudsen.

The good news in all of this, is the fact about $3000 was raised for the American Heart Association.  Heart Consultants, in conjunction with the Omaha Softball Association, staged a co-ed tournament this year for AHA which featured both a competitive and recreational division.

Our contest was listed in the exhibition category where it belonged.  Not only was our team a little short on talent, we were also lacking the required number of female players.  WOWT photographer Natalie Moser was our only female volunteer (we were supposed to have five), and it turns out Natalie was our star player.  She had four at-bats and reached base every time.  Since she seems to know what she's doing, Natalie is the new designated coach for the Channel Six All Stars.

Heart Consultants, wait until next year.
