I have a little family recipe to pass along that most people say they'll never try when they first hear about it.  But invariably those who take a chance and taste test Grandma Hazel's Special concoction, give thumbs up.

Grandma Hazel (on my Mom's side) came to visit our family several times a year and it was tradition for her to serve up fried egg sandwiches at some point during her stay.

There's not much to the recipe, it's just the unusual combination of ingredients along with the taste that sets it apart.

Back then the fried egg was always served up white bread but wheat bread is acceptable.  On one side of the bread slather on some ketchup, on the other spread some peanut butter.  Be sure to slap on the egg right out of the skillet so the heat melts the peanut butter.

Then with napkin ready, bite into the Grandma Hazel Special and enjoy the delicious treat.  Peanut butter and ketchup?  Just try it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Knicely Done!
