Tonight I followed up on another successful Pay it Forward project with Tanya Custer's swim event at CoCoKey Water Resort. Her goal was to use the $1000 from First National Bank to raise money to fight childhood cancer. Well over 200 swimmers joined in the fun for a good cause and Tanya's final total will be close to five times the money she received for her project.
We actually had six projects this spring and during the winter months another six Pay it Forward projects were successfully completed. It underscores again what a generous community we live in. I have many opportunities to help with fund-raising efforts in the Metro area and it seems every event is very well supported.
There are many tragic stories that we have to report as part of our responsibility to keep you informed but we also bring you the positive stories and Pay it Forward is a great example.
Tracy Madden came up with the great idea and many of our viewers were eager to participate. It's encouraging.
Knicely Done!
