Spring Game Soldout! Heavens to Bo

Former Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson vowed several years ago to "change the culture" of Nebraska football.  He succeeded and lost his job in the process.

Tom Osborne's return settled the upheaval and the spring game sellout is a clear indication that Husker fans overwhelmingly support Osborne's choice for Head Coach.  Everybody wants to see what an injection of Bo Pelini passion will do to a program that lost it's swagger.

And it's not just the fans.  I've talked with several former Nebraska standouts who felt disenfranchised by the Pederson/Callahan "culture change."  During that short-lived era those players and many others received a chilly reception when they dropped by for a visit and were not encouraged to do so.  Osborne's open door policy is welcoming and they tell me Pelini may not know their names but he certainly recognizes the value of their smash-mouth legacy.

What comes across from Pelini and the new order he's establishing at Nebraska is that his players will go all out even if only one fan shows up at Memorial Stadium.  Husker fans will appreciate that even if the team struggles in the win-loss column next fall.  And don't think the invited recruits won't notice that unheard of support on Saturday when they see a stadium full of fans who turned out for an inter-squad scrimmage.

Looks like a culture change for the better.

I can't wait to see Nebraska's defense actually looking like a defense that can "put the hurt" on the other team's offense.Last year's defense was the saddest excuse we'll ever see & I'm expecting this year's "D" to be able to bring some heat to the QB & tackle & hit with a vengence! The constant "being out of position" by players is nothing but very poor coaching that led to extreme frustration by the players.BO knows defense & he'll get the best players on the field.I hope Cody Glenn unleashes all his pent up frustrations & just lets it all hang out for his senior season. Our offense has plenty of 'oomph' returning & the kickers will be fine.Work needs to be done on kickoff coverage but again,we now have BO so expect that to improve immensely as well.I gotta tell ya,I'm EXCITED about the team & plays we'll see. Go BO! Go Big Red!

Good luck huskers. It is going to take you years to get to where the Oklahoma program is. Your bad. Maybe in ten years or so you can make it back into the top 10 again. Until then keep working hard. Maybe you can keep Kansas under 50 this year. Nicely Done

Pederson and Callahan set the Huskers back decades. Hopefully they can recover. Bo Pelini I think may be the second coming of Bob Devaney. I think now with the focus on defense and not offense the Huskers are on the right track. It is good to have the west coast offense in our back pocket. It is time to get back to what made Nebraska great. Does anyone remember Rich Glover? Lets bring back the nose guard. Bo knows defense can create offense and I know he has some tricks up his sleeve. If you watched the LSU game, the defense looked like offense when he was sending the defensive back running from 15 yards back on a dead sprint right up the middle to sack the quarterback.
