He played fullback for the Huskers in the mid-80's. Ken Kaelin a small town Nebraska boy who walked on and fulfilled his dream to play for the Huskers. I interviewed Ken from time to time during his playing career and I recently spoke with him again. He had another dream about five years ago, an "if you build it, they will come" idea.
Well Ken built it, and they're coming to the Omaha Hobby Plex. Those who report on radio controlled car racing refer to "the Plex" as a world class indoor race track facility. Five years ago when Ken took his idea to local Bankers, he steered to the pits. Nobody around here wanted to finance such an ambitious project. But with stubborn fullback-like hard headedness, Ken refused to go down and secured out-of-state financing.
Now he has hosted his second National Championship event of the year and he may be in line someday for the World Championship of radio controlled racing. You can watch the video to hear more from Ken.
Way to go #49.
Knicely Done!
