Behind the scenes: "standing tall"

It's used for those moments when we step out from behind the anchor desk and stand in front of the camera.  There is a bit of a height disparity when Tracy and I stand side by side.  The great equalizer is pictured with this blog.  It used to be a simple little wooden box covered with dull black paint.  Not anymore.

One of our ace production workers decided to apply some of her artistic skills to that mundane stepping platform last weekend and now it's a focal piece of the studio.  Leigh Ann Ryan is considered by all of us to be a member of the all-production team with her varied talents but this extra effort deserves special recognition.  Now when Tracy stands (and Malorie in the morning) to deliver a line, she is solidly perched on a flowery design made with great care.

We certainly don't want this mention to go to Leigh Ann's head but it actually follows another recent honor she received for her work here at the station:  Employee of the Month.

Now when you see Tracy and I standing in front of the camera you'll have a little behind the scenes knowledge of that camera shot from the floor up.

Way to go Leigh Ann.
