WHEW!

My last blog topic was the first Omaha snowfall.  The first snow seems like it was so long ago.  It has been a month of Saturday's with ice and snow and very little time to catch a break and write something.  Christmas has come and gone, much too quickly.   I did get  a break before Christmas to get all of my shopping done the Sunday before the holiday, ...very early.  My first stop was at Westroads, where I started very early as the stores opened.   I did take a moment to stop at Von Maur to visit the outside memorial.  It's hard to visit something like that and not feel that a part of you has been taken away.

Santa was very good to me granting my wish for a portable reciprocating saw....18volt.   This saw is the perfect "guy" gift.  It will cut anything!, wood, limbs, pipe, everything but rock.  I did get a number of "frogs" for Christmas.  Frogs are the hot new bait and I had a stocking stuffed with them. No, they didn't jump out.

My schedule prohibited me from going out on New Year's Eve so I spent  the evening with my wife and two boys.  We toasted in the New Year, yup, I was actually awake. watching the motorcycle jump in Vegas.

2008 holds endless opportunities, I hope all of you had a wonderful Holiday season.

As the spring is approaching and severe weather season gets closer I was hoping that you could update the end of the winter forecast that said our 2008 season would be early and active for severe storms. How soon do you expect it to begin? I am very excited for the storms to come and hope you can give more details!

Jim, I am not sure how this blog thing works. Just wanted to say I have been watching you do your weather thing for quite a few years. I hope to see you on the water someday. Here is hoping that we all will have a safe and happy 2008!!!
