I was out scouting for my brother yesterday checking out the deer prospects.  I haven't  been to this spot in over a month and nearly got lost trying to find my marking tape on the trees.  There's nothing more eery than to see four sets of eyes staring at you thru the flashlight glare.  I failed to mention in earlier blogs that the landowner has prints of a mountain lion  taken by camera from his back deck.  I managed to spook these deer on the way in and only saw a couple of bucks with one pictured in an earlier blog.

My brother is in the deer stand right now.  We managed to traverse the platte this moring in the dark....fun.....it was actually harder coming back in the afternoon because the area we picked to exit was deeper than this morning.....fun....I didn't realize the platte had such a swift current.  

This weekend brings a lot of optimism as my brother tries to break his 20+ year buck-less streak.
