When the Rodeo Rolls into town

Growing up on a farm, I've been to my fair share of rodeos. More than 75 to be exact. PBR is certainly the tour many future bull riders look forward to. Fans travel around the U.S., following not only their favorite bull riders, but many also know the history of the bulls. All of it leading up to the championship in Las Vegas, NV.

My cousin Chad is a huge fan. He lives 5 1/2 hours away, in Oxford, Kansas. Once he found out the tour was rolling into town, he called to see if he and his son, Cameron, 9, could make the trip up.

We headed out to Cabela's Saturday to meet and greet Cameron's favorite riders. It wasn't hard to spot where they were in the store...just look for the line of 150 parents and little Cowboy's. If you were there, you know what I'm talking about:-)

Was it worth it? It only took us about 30 minutes to get up to the front. Cameron had all of the riders sign his hat, but surprisingly he got quiet when we got to the front. He did enjoy a few jokes with "Flint" who as fans know, is quite the character.

We asked him on the way to the car why he was so quiet. Chad reminded him he had met a lot of riders along the way. Cameron replied, "Yeah dad, but these are the best!."

Hopefully, you enjoyed the show. Here's a pic of Cameron with his cowboy hat my dad bought him in San Antonio!

It never ceases to amaze me the heart warming tribute that these men give our armed forces. It is so heartwarming to stand and hear them speak of the men and women that have and are serving our country! My son is a Purple Heart Vet from the Iraq war and he stood strong and at attention when our nations anthem was played. I was so honored to also be in the presence of those men who not only competed honorably but were quick to drop to one knee to thank God for their safe ride. Thank you men for a wonderful evening spent at the PBR.
