In an effort to get the word out on "things to do" in Omaha this summer I will contribute my thoughts and ideas as well. I know Rusty does a summer LivingCast each morning on Daybreak where he highlights an event, festival, camp, concert, etc. going on that day around town. I've also started to do weekly reports for the weekend morning show. This week I'll be heading to the Taste of Omaha taking place in Heartland of America Park/Lewis & Cleark Landing on the riverfront. This is a three day outdoor event where the general public can be wined and dined by some of the best restaurants in the city. Go check it out to be outdoors, hear live music, and EAT! i'll keep adding to this blog as I hear about/attend more events this summer. I'd love to hear everyone's feedback (postive and negative!) on what's going around in Omaha this summer. Or let me know what you guys hear of. Even though we're mainly plugged into what's occuring within the city let me know about happenings in our neighboring towns. Take note of: -Taste of Omaha, June 5th-7th -Omaha Children's Museum where Sesame St. Presents: The Body, all summer. -Joslyn Museum's Sculpture Garden, opens June 6th -Parks & Rec. Sun Dawgs Program, all summer. -COLLEGE WORLD SERIES!!!! Starts Sat. June 13th. Check espn.com for up to date schedules. -Railroad Days, June 20th-21st -Omaha Summer Arts Festival - June 26th, 27th, 28th. -Shakespeare on the Green, Elmwood Park, running thru the 21st and again 24th-28th -12th Annual All Chevy Show, Sunday 7/19 -Ribfest at Mid-America Center Thursday 7/16-Sunday 7/19 |
