Last weekend, tens of thousands of people soaked in the Pheasants Forever convention at the Qwest Center. Many had their dogs with them. 21,700 people turned out. To get things started, several outdoorsmen and women walked through the Bird Dog parade with their trusted companion. It consisted of a walk from the convention floor and down the long hallway. Fans lined the area roped off to get a glimpse. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack greeted everyone at the end. Then there was the matter of when nature calls -- staff put down plastic to protect the carpet. But anything can look like a fire hydrant. |
