I can't tell you how many times I've been to the Henry Doorly Zoo.  In the dozens of trips I've made to the Lied Jungle -- mostly with my son -- I have never seen one of the animals move.  The sloth.

It never bothered me because it's a sloth.  By definition, the slow moving animal spends its life upside down in a rain forest.  Since a sloth is nocturnal, I figured that's another reason I never see it even blink or breathe.  I'm usually spending time at the zoo during the day.

Mark this down -- Monday night at 5:15 -- I saw him climbing all over the tree where he usually sleeps.  There was food next to him so maybe that got him moving.  By the way, he moved much faster than I expected for an animal who is a metaphor to a lazy person.
