This is one of those stories that would never make it on the news but fits in well with a blog. Tonight we heard a call on the scanner about a suspected prowler in Bellevue. The teenage children had come home and thought someone was inside the house. The youngsters did the right thing and called police. A short time later, investigators sent in the K-9 to see if he could pick up the trail of a possible bad guy. No such luck. By the time we arrived on scene, we could tell it was over. The officers were putting away their tasers. Neighbors were allowed back in the cul-de-sac. An officer told us as much as we walked up to the house with our equipment. Then we heard what he told the family -- sort of a good news and bad news scenario. They didn't find any evidence of a prowler but the police dog had an accident inside the home and his handler was cleaning it up. The family asked a question that was out of my hearing range but I soon understood when I heard the officer's reply. It was a number 2. Brian |
