I'm looking forward to tonight and the next couple of weeks.  I've always enjoyed the Winter Olympics more than the Summer Games.  For me it's about hype and the underdog.  I prefer the latter.

For the Summer Olympics I know so much about the athletes involved before the games ever get started.  I get sucked into the NBC marketing machine. 

During the summer, we're so busy doing stuff outside it's harder to capture my attention.  Don't get me wrong, I follow the story lines and the last games were outstanding -- especially after following the Swim Trials from the Qwest Center to Beijing.

There's just something tranquil and serene about the Winter Games that, in my mind, makes it more pure.
