Tonight as my wife and son headed out, he told her "You can't go to church like that?" Usually parents tell children that. Not the other way around. As she recounted the conversation to me I asked, "Were you wearing sweats or something?" She said, "No, of course not." She continued the story. Our son told her why: "Your hair is straight!" She had just been to the salon and her hair was shaped differently that our son was used to. He thought his point was not only profound but obvious. Next he said, "Will anyone in the cafeteria even know who you are?" Change is hard for all of us. Apparently, it's worse for children. Brian |
