I feel for those who bought tickets and weren't able to go the Star Wars show Tuesday night because of the snowstorm. I'm not sure what I would have done in a similar situation especially since, as a reporter, I'm out driving around and covering all those situations where we recommend others not to do it. That said, I've never seen so many characters in one place as I reported on the story. And it wasn't just the kids but those who grew up with Star Wars in the late 70's and early 80's decked out in full garb. It looked like some of them found authentic, yet faded t-shirts. My son is infatuated with the Republic and light sabers and Storm Troopers. Ever since the Cartoon Network started airing The Clone Wars last year, he can't get enough. He's already seen three of the movies from the library and he soaks in every second. I had to work on Tuesday so I didn't get tickets but I can only imagine the impact of his sad eyes knowing the concert was in jeopardy because of the blizzard. Thankfully, I didn't have to make the call. Brian |
