For his birthday, my son received a Leapster. If you don't know what this is and I didn't before he got one -- it's a small hand-held machine that you play and learn things from different cartridges. Like most of this stuff, the screens are easier to see when it's darker. Fast forward to my son wanting to bring the machine along for a ride in the car. You know, it's hard to see much of anything in a car on a day full of sunshine. My son realized that as I saw him struggling with a blanket we keep in the backseat. He pulled and grabbed and wiggled until it covered him at 11 in the morning. A flannel blanket, head-to-toe on a hot day? So I asked him what was going on. "It's easier to see the game in the dark, Dad," he replied in a matter-of-fact way. At least he couldn't see me take a camera picture of his creativity this time! Brian
