My son recently celebrated a birthday.  On his wish list -- a watch he'd been asking for for months.

We got him a Hot Wheels one and he developed a crush on it.  It didn't matter that he was learning to read the hands (we didn't get him a digital) -- he wouldn't take his eyes off it.

Fast forward a couple hours to church and the point in the service where the pastor asks the children to come up front for a message.

It was 4th of July weekend, so the pews were sparse and few children were there to participate.

As the pastor told a story, my son still couldn't take his eyes off his watch.  And it was hard to miss it.

As he continued to look back at his watch time and again, it seemed as though he was growing impatient with the length of service.

Here's one of the things you can get away with when you're 5.
