I can't get the image out of my head. A Bellevue mom treats her son and daughter to ice cream only to be killed by a hit-and-run driver. And the children see it all. One of the workers at the ice cream shop tried to help. The victim's children huddled by her side. The 8-year old boy is worried that it's somehow his fault because it was his idea to get ice cream. He's asking for forgiveness. The worker stressed that it's not his fault but it's hard to imagine the young child has let go of that thought. The neighborhood reacted quickly. One man took down a license plate that led them to a car. There's still work to be done by police but it looks like they have promising leads. Unfortunately, there's no good answer for what the children have ahead of them. Brian |
