Cal-State Fullerton is the first team to lose the dream. Their Road to Omaha ended Monday afternoon. And I for one and sad to see them go. I was hoping for a long run because of their mustaches. Yes -- their mustaches. They grew them in the spring for team unity. They went 15-2 in March. Some of the mustaches came off and the team played 10-7 ball in April. The mustaches came back. In Omaha, the mustaches didn't seem to conjure up the same magic as during the season. I loved the mustaches for two reasons -- I can't grow one so I'm jealous. And it made me wonder how many people turned on a game and when they saw the close-up of a Titans player -- thought they were watching ESPN Classic and a game from the 70's. The mustaches could have fit into that era. No one I saw had the goatees that we're so used to seeing today. It also reminded me of a local fundraiser a couple weeks ago. $20,000 was raised for Camp CoHoLo -- Children's Cancer Camps of Nebraska through the Mustaches for Kids Omaha Chapter. 31 men grew mustaches for the event. They're lucky Cal-State Fullerton didn't get here. The players may have won all of the awards! Brian
