We've had to change a few names when it comes to nap time around our house.  It used to be called 'Nap time' for obvious reasons.

Then our son said he doesn't need a nap (he doesn't understand that perhaps we do!).

So we changed the name to 'Quiet time' -- an hour when he spends time by himself in his room.  We figured that would end the debate.

Then weeks later he said he doesn't want to be quiet because he likes to sing and read out loud.... so we renamed it 'Alone time.'

The other day during along time my wife came into the room to find him sitting on the end table looking out the window during alone time.

She asked what he was doing.

He said, "I'm just sitting here watching the world go by."

OK.

Then he adds, "Mom, do you ever watch the world go by?"

If only he knew what we adults know, right?
