From time to time, I like to share what's in my car CD changer. Sometimes I swap them out quickly. Sometimes they stay around for some time. 1. Kings of Leon - Only by the Night: Ever since I heard "The Bucket" from this band a few years ago I've been hooked. This album doesn't disappoint. Inventive but still catchy. 2. John Coltrane - Lush Life: I've been in the mood for classic jazz lately and this one I hadn't listened to lately. A remastered version was available on emusic.com too. It's like a day at the beach with bright sunshine and a cool breeze. 3. Gomez - A New Tide: I had to laugh at this one because this is the band that will play in Omaha's free concert at Memorial Park June 6. When I looked at our comments page to the story, many people responded to the announcement with, "Who?" 4. U2 - No Line on the Horizon: I've loved these guys since "New Year's Day" came out eons ago. After a few listens, this one grew on me. It wasn't automatic though and it's still in the changer so that a good thing. 5. Gary Jules - Mad World: I put this there after last week's American Idol show. One of the contestants sang the Tears for Fears remake and I had to dig out this version for my wife. 6. The Gaslight Anthem - The '59 Sound: This band caught me off guard. I found myself replaying a lot of the songs while it was on random play because I felt like I had heard the song before.
