In the last month, we started something new Live @ Four.  Live chatting.

Here's how it works, we usually take something that is in the news that day and open a forum at wowt.com for discussion.  For example, the day the Iowa Supreme Court ruled that a ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional we chatted about it for a half-hour.  Today's topic, April 15, focuses on the hundreds of tea parties that are being held around the country.

I'll admit I wasn't sure about the idea at first.  All I could think is here I'm am -- anchoring a half-hour newscast and, besides the commercials, there isn't much free time for chatting on line.  After all, I'm telling stories to the public live.  Not to mention, with the new set, we're moving around all the time and aren't in front of a computer that's necessary for chatting.

I think it's working though.  The meteorologists may see me typing instead of paying attention to their forecasts but they haven't mentioned being disappointed in my lack of focus for them.  (I'm sure they will now!)

So to all those who say men can't multitask  --- do you hear me Beth?  That's my wife. --- tune in live at four and at wowt.com to see me, at the very least, trying!
