On Monday evening as I was out covering the storms, my wife called. My son was in a panic and needed reassurance. He heard the tornado sirens and all he could do is ask his mom was whether his swing set would be safe. If you're new to this blog, the hurricane-like wind storm that tore through the area June 27, 2008, also broke his playground into pieces. It was traumatic for him. He witnessed the power of a storm. It wasn't long and he was calmer. He just wanted to know what I was doing. Clearly, some of that fear is healthy. We just need to develop some sort of happy medium. Anyone else have similar issues with the recent storm? I'd be interested in how you handled it. Thanks, Brian |
