Emergency Room Visit

Not sure if you remember, but last year I wrote about my son averting a trip to the ER after stuffing a jingle bell up his nose.  My only saving grace was that we could still see it.  I used some tweezers in a restaurant bathroom to perform the amateur surgery.  It was a success.  Lesson learned, right?

Nope.

Last night, my babysitter calls me at work.  She was driving Braxton to the ER.  There was an M&M in there this time.

Enough time had passed that the shell had come off and he now had a runny nose -- it looked like chocolate.

My son assured me on the phone that there was just one goodie in there.  We let the doctors make sure of it.

So this morning when I asked about it and fully expected an excuse, I heard embarrassment.

He said, "Dad, it wasn't a very smart thing to do."

I hope he remembers it.  He will next time he sees an M&M.

He might start thinking about a new favorite candy!

with my child, it was a pea! She was scared and crying that it was stuck in her nose! Luckily, tweezers did the trick, but I fully understand that kids do these things and usually, it's for attention. She never did it again. Isn't parenting fun?
