My wife and I are just a couple days away from the first day of school for our son.  He's excited and anxious.  At an open house tonight, he couldn't wait to meet his teacher for the first time.

I loved how excited he was to shop for his own pencils, crayons, glue and box to hold them.  I can't remember someone sharpening a pencil with such enthusiasm.

Recently he even started working on a math book of problems that he had received from one of his Grandma's.  He never picked it up until last week.  My wife asked him what was the sudden interest.  He said he wanted to make sure his teacher knew he could do math.

I hope that passion is there when he's a teenager!!!
