Do you have any New Year’s resolutions for your significant other? Not your spouse or boyfriend or girlfriend, but your vehicle. You need to start paying a little bit more attention to your baby before it’s too late.
Has your relationship lost some of its spark? Maybe she’s even missing some of her old energy.
Nothing says I care about you to your vehicle more that a new set of spark plugs. Even though they don’t need to be replaced as often as they used to, they do wear out over time and they can make your vehicle run rough. So give your ride some new life. Have your mechanic check her spark plugs the next time that you’re in the shop and you can have her purring like a kitten in no time.
Oils and lotions are always a good gift for your spouse and your vehicle would love to receive the same thing (although the oils for the auto don’t smell quite as nice). There are a lot of moving parts on your vehicle from the engine and transmission all the way to the door hinges. Keep them all lubed like you should and your relationship is going to last much longer.
If the two of you are having trouble seeing what’s ahead in your future, you might need a new set of wiper blades. These are very important for visibility, so you need to change them on a regular basis. The good news is that wiper blades are like some guys, pretty cheap and fairly easy to replace.
If your car’s been screeching at you lately, don’t take it personally. She might just need a brake…or brakes. Pay attention when she is screeching at you because she’s just trying to save you some money by telling you to get your brake pads replaced before you damage other parts of the brake system, which will cost you even more money.
See if you can go a little easier on your friend when you are driving over the next year. You don’t need to be so aggressive all of the time because it just wears your car out and costs you gas money. Go nice and easy and your friend will be happy and so will your wallet.
Resolve to look through your owner’s manual this year. It's non-fiction and it will help you understand what makes your significant other tick (literally). It’s a great source of information, so take the time to breeze through it and learn a few new things about your baby. You both will be happy that you did.
