House Arrest Inmate Dies
Brian Mastre
A house arrest inmate has died six days after starting his sentence for second offense DUI.
A family member found Clarence Vaughn, 61, unresponsive about 9:15am Thursday. Paramedics drove him to Immanuel Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10am.
Vaughn started his 45-day house arrest sentence for DUI last Friday.
State law requires any in-custody deaths to go before a grand jury. The Douglas County Sheriff's office is investigating.
